Happy 2026 to all!

Hey, Young Scientists!

We hope all of you had a great start into 2026 and that all of your experiments go well this year! For those attending the Fall Meeting, you already know we have an exciting year planned and we hope to see lots of you at our various events. Starting with this one:

Pre-DGMS E-Poster Webinar

The future is here! Well at least for the DGMS, because the Leipzig team is going digital, introducing E-Posters  and flash talks this year. Since this format is still new to most of us, we want to give all of you the opportunity to ask open questions and get feedback.

The Webinar will be one week before final submission of your E-Poster, so you still have time to make changes!

When: Friday 30th January 1-4 pm
Where: Online, register here

IMSC 2026

One of the biggest MS conferences in Lyon this year has started both the registration and abstract submission. We will also be there of course and have some fun events planned together with the youngNVMS and the CJSM.

The abstract submission is closing on the 13th of February! As there will be dedicated slots for junior researchers in every session, this is your chance of getting a talk at a large international event, also with travel grants from the DGMS!

There is also a plan to have cheap housing for students and young scientists available, so keep on the lookout for that as well!

Vote for your 2025 Meme!

Last year we wanted to go out with a smile, so we asked you to submit memes about your PhD or academia experience. The time has come to crown a winner. There are 7 memes running up to be the best, which all of you can vote for here

We can’t wait to see many of you at our events!
