Young Scientists at 56th DGMS Göttingen
This year’s Young Scientist Evening at the DGMS in Göttingen was a fantastic event! We hope everybody had a great time with our program:
First the inspiring career talk by Prof. Anneli Kruve over “failing” her way to success. And to help stomach these insights, there was delicious pizza sponsored by MS Vision and refreshing drinks partly sponsored by the DGMS afterwards.
And last but not least, our Agilent Young Scientist Award winner Tim Steinwachs from our 2024 Fall Meeting got to present his talk “Counterfeit detection using nanoparticle-embedded inks printed by a modified inkjet and laser ablation single particle ICP-MS Imaging” on the big stage in front of the whole DGMS conference.
Business Meeting & New Board Members
Some important decisions were made at the business part of our meeting we want to share with you, especially those that couldn’t attend:
• The number of speakers has been increased from 3 to 4.
• The YS credit balance maximum has been raised to 2000€, to keep fees low for upcoming Fall Meetings.
• Wiebke Schultze and Joshua Kraft were elected as new Spokespersons. They will introduce themselves with their own “Meet the Board” posts soon.
• Hendrik Krolle has taken over from Marius Lauffer as Main Speaker. A huge thank you to Marius for his work over the past two years!
We are always trying to improve, especially with the feedback from all of you. This is why we want to involve all of you in this change! We are looking into new places to hold our 2026 Fall Meeting, after this has been requested for a long time. If you know of a good spot or location, please email us your idea!
